Mathematical Modelling of Ecological and Socioeconomic Systems
The winter school will be held at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in Senegal (27 - 31 Jan 2020). Lectures from the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) will guide the learning process. The school also wishes to promote a cultural exchange between students from German and African academic and research institutions.
••For students from African academic or research institutions:
••For students from German academic or research institutions:
This winter school aims at exploring a number of ecological and socioeconomic problems using state-of-the-art modeling methods, including differential equation-based and agent-based modelling. Both approaches will be applied using the programming language python. The topics include spreading of diseases, predator-prey interactions, processes of earth system regulation, and human cooperation.
